The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of the use of technology on the performance of immigrant-owned SMMEs in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. A quantitative research design was adopted and data was collected from 400 immigrant entrepreneurs who were selected using snowball and purposive sampling techniques. Correlation and regression analysis were used to test the hypothesis. This study concluded that the use of technology has a positive effect on the performance of immigrant-owned SMMEs in South Africa. Thus, one of the ways to improve performance of the SMMEs sector in South Africa is the adoption and use of technology in this sector.
